From October 30 to November 3, Vice President Chen Zhiguo visited the following three American universities successively: Northern Virginia Community College, University of Missouri—Kansas City, Kansas State University—Olathe.
During the visit in Northern Virginia Community College, Chen and other delegates were warmly received by Vice President, Professor Syedur Pahman, who held a bilateral negotiation; the two sides praised the virtual learning project between the two universities that had already been implemented for three years and had achieved good effects. They hoped that this project will continue to develop, and other short-term joint cooperation projects, such as cooperative teaching between two sides
and joint teacher training.
During the visit at University of Missouri—Kansas City, Professor Kevin z. Truman, Vice Provost of international exchange, Professor Wayne Vaught, Dean of School of Arts and Sciences, Professor Monica Mingucci, Dean of the School of Applied Linguistics with the representatives of our university had an in-depth and frank exchange of views on student exchange, university credit mutual recognition and teacher education promotion, and reached the intention of cooperation. During the communication with Professor Ralph c. Richarson, Executive Director and President of the University, Professor Vakas, Vice President, and Professor Janice Barrow, Vice President of academic affairs, Chen proposed the intention of our university in cooperation with the School of Agriculture and Biotechnology of our school. After the exchange meeting, all the representatives of our university were invited to participate in the "One Day Health" academic salon, which was attended by the university of Kansas city scholars and student representatives.
The delegation’s visits has achieved the expected results, and signed MOUs the three universities.
The visit was approved by the Education Department of Hunan province and the Foreign Affairs Office of Hunan Provincial People’s Government.
