On 29thDecember2016,the New Year’s Eve party of 2017 for faculty and staff named “New Start and New Journey” was hosted in the concert hall of Yifu Building by the universityTrade Union. More than 100 staff participated in the performances.University leadersand teaching staff representatives, a total of over 600 people, attended the party.
At first Guo Jun, Secretary of CPC HUHST Committee, delivered a New Year’s speech. The party opened with the choruses Singing a Folk Song for the Communist Party and Tomorrow will be Better by university leaders and the faculty of the School of Music and Dance. There were also some attractive and original performances, such as the Tibetan dance Love Song by the school dance team, the classical danceJasmine, serial singing of foreign songs—English, Japanese and French by School of Foreign Languages, piano performance A Song for Toast by School of Music and Dance, Qipao Showperformed by Retirement Office, Ancient Costume Show by School of Fine Arts and Design, The Yoga Dance—the Language of Pipa by Library staff, and the group dance Singing of a Beauty by School of Information. Some performances reflected the spirit of times, presenting the reform and development of our university, such as Serial Singing of Situation Songs—Story of Timeselected by School Youth League Committee, The Roc will Fly with Wind One Dayby School of Liberal Arts, the three-sentence-and-a-half ballad Transformational Development Has a Good Momentum by School of Business, the female solo The Dragon Boat Song by School of Law, the ballroom dance Auld Lang Syne by School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, the allegroPraise for HUHST by School of Energy and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the quartet My Motherland and I by the school staff union, Martial Arts and Danceby School of Physical Education. At last, the serial dance Happy Chinese New Year by School of Education promoted the party into climax, indicating good luck and happiness in the coming year.
